New Date and Time API for Java SE 7?

Good news! [tag]JSR 310: Date and Time API[/tag] has just been announced. When I first read the announcement, I said to myself “Finally! It looks like someone is bold enough to operate on this piece of the class library and they have some sort of support”. Well, we’ve been using [tag]Joda-Time[/tag] for a few years and it is much more intuitive than the standard library. I’m glad that Stephen Colebourne will co-run this JSR, which will be influenced/based on Joda-Time. And I hope that the [tag]JSR 310[/tag] will make into [tag]Java SE 7[/tag]. Good news it is!
